I had similar bosses in the past. The level of disconnectedness with what kept the organization ticking was staggering. But, you know, one way for Steve to solve his minor issues with that mini-Microsoft blogger is to hunt him down, and promote him into middle-management. Squeeze him in between the real bosses and the grunt workers. Make him experience real pain. Either he'll burn out and keep the honor for himself, or he'll turn to the bright side himself.
Now, if I would be working for a CEO that gives interviews like these, I would run, not walk to get outta there.
