Now the cool thing would be to blog about these things in real time.
/me ducks ;-)
Not sure you consider Drupal a competitor, but I hope you are not "underwhelmed" with Drupal's RSS support. It's quite extensive.
Not at all, Dries. I was aiming at Confluence, mainly. I'm relieved knowing that Drupal is PHP-based, and we are Java-based. ;)
I realize that PHP-based solutions are often frowned upon by Java or Python developers. After all, I'm a Java guy myself. However, I strongly believe one can make solid PHP applications that outperform many Java-based ones. :)
I'm not frowning: just happy that Drupal is not Java-based otherwise Daisy wouldn't have much of a chance to make a difference. I have great respect for Drupal, as it's seems decently architected rather than organically thrown together as with many "CMS tools" in the LAMP space.
The main reason why people now pick Daisy in favor of other systems out there, is our two-tier approach with the ReST-like accessible repository service, and HTTP/XML communication between the back-end and the front-end (wiki) webapp. I've not encountered many Java, let alone PHP-based systems with a similar design.
Mooie foto van het leeuwenmeisje.
