XTech blogging - 1

So here we are at XTech/Gilbane 2005. Yesterday, I had a most pleasant evening with Arjé and his far more interesting girlfriend Kirsten, doing the usual "find the cultural differences between Dutch and Flemish people". Apparently, we Flemish people make lots of guttural sounds to make up for silences in the conversation. Where as Dutch people fill up these same silences with real words - however with the same lack of actual information.

The XTech keynotes have started - room seems filled halfway. Which isn't bad, but the fond memories when XML Europe was gathering 1000 attendees remain nothing but sweet things of the past. I'll be on at 11AM presenting Daisy. And this afternoon, Arjé and I will be meeting up again - you'll hear more about that later on.

Update: all went well, with questions and lack of demo time. Nothing unusual. ;)
