Spotting: socialism
Although we aren't really politically active, it's been the fourth year in a row we honour the 1st of May by joining the socialist manifestation on the Vrijdagsmarkt, a beautiful market place in the heart of Ghent. In the shadow of the Bond Moyson, the square was crowded with cheerful people celebrating the events that eventually led to the official sanction of the eight-hour workday. Even though we hit the square quite late in the afternoon, after the speeches and the music, it was a nice way to spend a lazy Saturday afternoon, with all sorts of kids activities, ice cream and plenty of photo opportunities. You'll find a selection of shots in the non-feed version of this post.
