These stories make me think that me experiences with Dell were not so bad after all. Their material breaks down quite a lot; but at least they prompty send someone over to repair it on site. Of course the technician often doesn't have the right components or info and has to come back several times. At least, they don't hijack your computer.
Apple was quite pleasant too when my TiBook PSU broke. They just sent me a new one and I had to return the old and broken one through the same courrier service. Failure to do so without 2 weeks will of course make Apple send you an invoice for the new item.
