Marc, himself, his blogs, and you reading them.

People reading up on Steven's blog already know we're the proud owners of a company blogging spot now. And as much as I'm liking the fact that I can kinda split up personal stuff from technical/business topics I'm not entirely sure that is going to be possible completely. Rest assured: there will be at least one place where you can read up on what is going on in my life (mostly).

I'm also close to predicting that voices will raise again about how I should start blogging (surely about more personal stuff) in dutch and splitting my (let's admit: shallow) feed even more. Every now and then the english (spelling) does get in my way (I'll be lucky enough if my english vocabulary adds up to 3000 words, a vague shine of the toolset my mother tongue would bring me), but somehow I guess that a fair share of international friendships build up over the years would be hurt a lot more by me switching to dutch, even on personal matters or even local politics.

Anyways, my first company-blog article is a fact, so if you didn't yet teach your feed-reader after Steven's announcement, here is your second chance.

The entry is about me getting down to Denmark for the local Java User Group annual conference. I didn't get home from that untill saturday evening. And even without bringing gifts and souvernirs down from trips like that (which this time I did for some reason, but only told them later) the kids expressed quite genuinely how glad they were to see me home again. Later that evening, while still enjoying those warm fuzzies I couldn't help considering if they'll keep on doing the welcomes like that ? Hm, enjoying it while they do, and showing them I do is probably the best bet at ensuring they will.

... but please keep up the english blogging - it's nice to keep in touch with the non-work stuff!
