Stellarium

Mmm, this Stellarium Astronomy Software is the kind of exciting gadget for all you geeky APOD lovers out there (well, it is for me)

I've discovered it as an easy to add package on my Ubuntu Breezy Badger distribution. Which in my case also got me into applying some of Sam Ruby's recent fglrx config magic to get the appropriate video acceleration going.

The ubuntu package is still at 0.6.2 while the 0.7.1 is out and offers searching for named sky-objects by name... I hope they'll push an update through the packages.gz soonish.

I am new to Ubuntu (and linux in general) but I would really like to try Stellarium. How did you install it on Ubuntu?
