How to handle URIs?

Thats easy, the Apache Jakarta Commons HttpClient Project contains a URI class implementing Uniform Resource Identifiers (URI) for you. No need to worry about URI handling anymore! Its probably best to brush up on RFC239 to best utilize this class, however.

Hint: Encoding reserved characters such as "/" is not a very good idea :-P Let the URI class take care of encoding for you.

The Rise And Rise of Linux.

Its really great to see Linux advance into the market place and become seen as a viable alternative to Microsoft. I just came across a story on the formation of a Linux Consumer-Electronics Group to make Linux a more effective platform for consumer devices. More progress!

My favorite Linux distrubution is Debian even though I have been playing with Redhat at work recently. RPMs aint so bad once you get to know them though :-)
