As some of you may already know, John Carmack of Quake and Doom fame is building his very own backyard spaceship to enter the X-Prize. After writing Quake, building a spaceship should be no big deal, right? Come to think of it, Im sure there is enough talent at Apache for a second Geek space shot. Bring on the Apache Open Source Mothership!
I just finished reading Manifold 3:Origin by one of my fave authors Stephen Baxter. Even though the novel deals with cool geeky stuff such as Fermi's Paradox, I found the story long and tedious! I guess thats the way of all science fiction, one doesnt read sci-fi for the "literature". Still, if I had to rate it, I would only give it 2.5 out of 5. Maybe I should start writing my own! On second thought - perhaps not!
