Ok, I know all you followers of the Mac cult are not going to be happy about this, but I just ordered a new Inspiron 8600 Dell laptop. Its a 1.7Ghz Pentium M (Centrino) Processor, with 1Gig Ram, 80 Gig harddisk, plus all the bells and whistles you could ask for.
Nice but expensive Easter present. Now I play the waiting game.
