Greetings, Axis community:
After a bunch more bug fixing, the Axis 1.2 beta release is finally ready to
go.
You'll find it at http://www.apache.org/dist/ws/axis/1_2beta/ - the versions
on the mirrors are incomplete ones from yesterday, so until they update
(dates on the files should be 31-Mar-2004, not 30-Mar-2004) please use only
this URL.
THINGS TO NOTE ABOUT THIS RELEASE:
* Optional stuff has been built in, so the binary release
should work with security, castor, commons-httpclient,
etc.
* Although it is codewise ready for testing, there are some
things we plan to clean up with respect to the build
and the documentation before the final release, so expect
some changes there. More bugs will also likely be fixed.
* If there are bugs which you believe are critical and have
not been addressed as yet in 1.2 beta, please let us know
and vote for them on JIRA [1]
Please download it, install, and test away! We project a
beta period of at least a few weeks, with a target for
final release around the end of April.
