Snakes & Rubies Video

"...On December 3, 2005, Ruby and Python developers from Chicago and vicinity gathered at DePaul University to hear two of the leaders in rapid Web-application development debate the merits of each other’s frameworks..."

If you haven't yet, download and have a look at the Snakes & Rubies talk from David and Adrian. It's quite a cool and interesting talk about Django and Ruby on Rails, not from a competitive angle but from the perspective of how the two frameworks came to exist in the world dominated by Java, .NET and PHP, etc.

I found it interesting to hear David's talk about Ruby and domain specific languages (in particular the demonstration of how ActiveRecords melts into the language proper), the beauty of Ruby, and the conversational style Q & A in the last hour of the video where David and Adrian answer random questions from the audience and web world.

Great stuff!
